Indianapolis IN Northside Armory From the Indianapolis Star 5/26/66 Dick the Bruiser and Cowboy
Bob Ellis teamed for the first time face the Masked Assassins in Friday
night's headliner at the Indianapolis IN Northside Armory. They asked the State Athletic
Commission to bar their opponent's manager from Ringside. Merle Alte
SAC executive secretary took the request under advisement but indicated
there was no regulation barring "seconds" from ring activities in
Indiana. Two Weeks ago Ray
Heenan the manager interfered in a bout involving the Bruiser and
Ernie Ladd against the Assassins and the resulting disqualification kept
the Bruiser-Ladd duo from taking the world's tag team title from the champs. Alte indicated
however that a state commissioner would be at ringside to prevent
another such occurrence. Results WWA tag
title Assassins drew with Bruiser and Ellis. Ellis won the first fall
in 14 minutes and Bruiser lost the second fall in 19 minutes. The 3rd
