About Rasslin'Relics

Rasslin' Relics was originally a catalog for selling and swapping wrestling material in the early 90's, long before Al Gore created the internet, as I had a flea market booth and had acquired a stock of wrestling items to hawk off. I had put an ad in Mike O'Hara's old New Wave Wrestling magazine, and as late as January of 2008, I've still gotten inquiries for lists. Due to the internet and online auctions, the dynamics of purchasing and dealing changed dramatically, making the old catalogs pretty obsolete. Nevertheless, not letting a good brand languish, I've unearthed the name to do this web site. This site has been up before in a couple of incarnations, and I didn't have a direction that I was happy with in the past. And where I'm not big on living in the past, I have come to the knowledge you can certainly live with it. In these times, perhaps it a good catharsis to remember how simple life used to be. This site is focused primarily on the Indianapolis WWA promotion from the 1960's, but this isn't exclusive. Many other promotions have put on shows here through the years which will also be discussed. On top of it, it seems our childhood memories of wrestling are intertwined with memories of simpler times; of monster movies and drive ins, of comics and B&W TV shows, right on through to music videos, home video and video games. All of this too will be discussed. Many on air wrestling personalities were also parts of other programming in the 50's and 60's, giving them the crossover appeal.

The message board is for you to your share wrestlememories, results and perceptions, not only for Bruiser's promotion, but also other territories. The internet in a very real way has replaced writing letters and swapping results, pics and clippings, but has given us a forum to share this info.

This is a user friendly site. Anything you'd like to contribute contact me here. As this is just a sideline, I will update this site as often as time permits. To be kept up to date on updates, or if you have any questions, fill out this form or use the snail mail address listed at the bottom of the page.

There will also be a page where I discuss Mike DuPree's short wrestling career, from fan to ring boy to performer. Whereas in the past I've made fun of his accomplishments in the squared circle, the fact of the matter is for a guy who didn't have size or a look, he traveled a pretty fair square and met quite a few people along the way. You can access that page here.

For those of you that don't think capitalism is that bad, you might check out my e-store(s) and auctions. Any purchases help pay the bills and is mucho appreciated.

Back when I was a kid, wrestling was just fun, nothing more or less really. I hope you find this site fun to wander through as well.

Good luck!
